Several discussions on Google support forums have highlighted a potential bug in that certain generic top-level domains (gTLDs) disappear from SERPs on weekends.
This bug, known as the Google Weekend Ranking Bug, affects specific types of gTLDs, such as .academy, .car, and .care.

The issue involves a complete de-indexing of these domains every weekend, resulting in a significant loss of traffic for affected websites.
The problem seems to have started in November and is not a normal weekend traffic phenomenon.
Multiple publishers have reported similar issues, with some providing evidence of the traffic and ranking patterns.
While it is similar to an old issue called the Legacy Domain Penalty, it appears to be a separate problem.
It is speculated that this could be a bug in Google's systems, possibly introduced with a recent algorithm update.
